Mitchell Starc registered an unwanted record as Liam Livingstone turned into a beast in the fourth ODI between Australia and England. It happened in the fourth match of the five-match series at Lord’s in London on Friday, September 27. The left-arm pacer leaked 28 runs in the last over as Livingstone propelled the hosts past 300 in a 39-over game per side reduced to rain.
Livingstone began the over with a flier by hitting a maximum over long-on before getting beaten by a short-length ball off the next delivery. The right-handed then came back strongly, slamming a hat-trick of sixes over deep square and long off regions. The 31-year-old finished the over with a boundary over backward point.

Liam Livingstone had slammed an unbeaten 33 off 20 balls in the third ODI against the Aussies. In the match, he also took the prized scalp of Glenn Maxwell.
Australia’s Xavier Doherty, Adam Zampa, and Cameron Green had previously leaked 26 runs each against India (2013/14), South Africa, and India (both 2023), respectively.
Liam Livingstone, Harry Brook and Ben Duckett fifties help England set 313-run target for Australia
Half-centuries from captain Harry Brook, Liam Livingstone, and Ben Duckett helped England post 312/5 against Australia in 39 overs.
Brook led from the front, scoring 87 runs off 58 balls, a knock laced with the help of one six and 11 boundaries. Duckett also scored 63 off 62 balls, comprising one six and six boundaries.
Livingstone provided the finishing touches by hitting a quickfire 62* off 27 deliveries, hitting seven maximums and three boundaries. Adam Zampa emerged as the pick of Australian bowlers, picking up two wickets. Meanwhile, captain Mitchell Marsh, Josh Hazlewood, Glenn Maxwell bagged one wicket each.
Australia are currently leading the five-match ODI series 2-1. They won the first two ODIs by seven wickets and 68 runs, respectively. England bounced back in the series with a 46-run victory, courtesy of a century from skipper Harry Brooks. Another win will help the hosts set up a series decider at County Ground in Bristol on Sunday, September 29.
