[Watch] Mitchell Starc wears frustrated look after yet another rain interruption in BGT 2024-25 3rd Test

Australia pacer Mitchell Starc was visibly frustrated as rain caused yet another interruption on Day 4 (Tuesday, December 17) of the ongoing third Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25 Test at The Gabba.

Play was called off and the covers came on right after the second delivery of the 63rd over was bowled by Starc, with Mohammed Siraj (1*) and Ravindra Jadeja (65*) at the crease.

As a result, the tea break was taken slightly earlier than scheduled. There was another drizzle that caused an interruption right before the 31st over could be completed. While play resumed, the rain made another appearance to delay the post-lunch session. Another break had to be taken toward the end of the 52nd over, also being bowled by Mitchell Starc.

Multiple rain interruptions throughout the day and the Test have frustrated the players, as was seen in the way Starc reacted after the most recent interruption that led to the tea break.

At the time of writing, India were 201-7, trailing Australia by 244 runs. Starc was into his 21st over, having bowled 20.2, giving away 73 runs, and picking up a couple of wickets.

Frustrated Mitchell Starc almost protests to the umpires amid rain interruptions

Players saw multiple rain interruptions on Day 4 of the ongoing third BGT 2024-25 Test at The Gabba, with play being stopped during Mitchell Starc's overs more than once.

The same pattern was seen on Day 3 as well, with rain causing an interruption when Starc was bowling. The pacer was frustrated and he almost protested to the umpires on Day 4 after the latest break.

At the time of the break, India were still 45 runs away from avoiding a follow-on. The Australian players would be keen to pick up the remaining wickets and wrap up the Indian innings as soon as they can. The series is tied at 1-1.
