[Watch] Mohammed Shami smashes sixes in a brilliant cameo in SMAT 2024-25
Team India pacer Mohammed Shami was in action during Bengal's pre-quarterfinal Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy game against Chandigarh on Monday, December 9. M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru is hosting the game.
Shami has given an account that he can be a handy batter down the order. He has two half-centuries in Tests against England and has chipped in with cameos at times.
In the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy game, Bengal were in a precarious position, reeling at 114/8 after the fall of Kanishk Seth's wicket. Shami smashed a boundary off the fifth ball he faced and did well to form a partnership with Pradipta Pramanik.
In the last over, Shami took strike against Chandigarh and Rajasthan Royals pacer Sandeep Sharma. The 34-year-old smashed 19 runs, courtesy of two maximums and a boundary. Shami scored 32 runs off 17 balls, becoming the second-highest scorer in the innings and stretching Bengal's total to 159/9 after 20 overs.
Take a look at some of the shots played by the pacer:

Earlier, Jagjit Singh (4/21) played a key role as Chandigarh restricted Bengal to 159/9. Raj Angad Bawa (2/27) was the next highest wicket-taker while Sandeep Sharma went wicketless and conceded 39 runs in the four overs he bowled.
