[Watch] Mohammed Siraj goofs around during Morne Morkel’s interview ahead of BGT 2024-25

During an interview, Team India pacer Mohammed Siraj was seen goofing with bowling coach Morne Morkel. The Men in Blue are holding match simulations and practices at the WACA Stadium, Perth, in preparation for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

In a video released by BCCI on their official account on Instagram, Morkel and Abhishek Nayar were seen summarizing what happened in the practice sessions and how the team played during the match simulations.

Morne Morkel had the following to say about how the bowlers did in their practice sessions:

"Very happy about how the bowlers went. They summed up conditions pretty well. We are on track for the 22nd, so another three training sessions left. We will sit down this afternoon or tomorrow and start planning, looking at game plans and how we're going to get the best out of everyone when it is game time on the 22nd."

In his batting gear, Mohammed Siraj slowly crept up behind the former South African pacer and looked at him. Morkel took notice of him and said:

"This man is a legend. He's got a big heart and an aggressive mindset, one of the leaders of the attack and I am very excited to see how he goes on this tour. Last tour, he was the go-to man in tough situations and we are excited to see more of that senior role coming up in this tour"

"The idea was to try and make sure that the younger and experienced guys got time in the center and understood the conditions" - Abhishek Nayar on the practice sessions

Earlier in the video, Team India's assistant coach Abhishek Nayar summarized the match simulations, saying:

"Just before we came to Australia, Gauti bhai, Rohit had a discussion on what we want out of those three days. The idea was to try and make sure that the younger guys and all the experienced guys give them a lot of time in the centre and to adapt to understand the conditions."
"We are playing Test cricket here after four years. So initially, we got the guys to come in, had it like a game where if you got out you got out. We gave them another chance and we felt that second time around, the guys adapted better and understood the conditions better."

Team India will take on Australia in a five-match Test series, with the first Test starting in Perth on Friday, November 22.
