[Watch] “Mohammed Siraj Offical official ID he baki sab fake hai” – Shubman Gill seen in funny mood during IND vs BAN 2024 1st Test
Shubman Gill was seen having fun with his teammates on Day 3 of the first Test between India and Bangladesh at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Saturday, September 21. Gill reacted to an old meme of Mohammed Siraj where the latter was seen clarifying his username on Instagram.
The No. 3 batter used the words from the old viral clip, which surfaced a few years ago.
In a video doing the rounds on X, Gill was seemingly heard saying:
“Mohammed Siraj Official official ID he baki sab fake hai (MohammedSirajofficial is the official (Instagram) ID, everything else is fake.”

“I always felt I made the right call” – Shubman Gill on switching to No.3 following his century against Bangladesh in Test opener
Shubman Gill spoke about his confidence in switching from opening to the No. 3 spot in Test cricket. The 25-year-old credited the Ranji Trophy for his preparations for being able to deliver against both pace and spin. He said (via The Indian Express):
“Even when I was not scoring runs, I always felt I made the right call (to move to number 3). It was never about the number, it was just about my own performance. (Why did he want to make the switch?) It was more about me being able to play both spin and pace."
“In the India A and Ranji Trophy matches I played, I batted at number 5, 4, and 3 as well and scored some runs there so I was always confident of scoring some runs there apart from opening. (Back foot punch or stepping out to spin, what does he prefer?) Definitely the punch - there's a different kind of confidence you get when you stand your ground and punch the bowler down the ground,” he added.
In the match, Shubman Gill scored an unbeaten 119 in the second innings after departing for a duck in the first essay. India won the match by 280 runs against Bangladesh to take a 1-0 lead in the two-match Test series.
