Mohammed Siraj struck early as opener Matt Renshaw departed for just five runs in the 50-over warmup game between India and Australia PM XI at Manuka Oval in Canberra on Sunday, December 1. Renshaw was caught by Devdutt Padikkal on the 20th delivery as the hosts lost their first wicket for 12 runs.
The dismissal came in the fifth over of Australia PM XI innings. Renshaw bowled back of a length ball that decked away after pitching. Renshaw tried to go through with the shot but got a thick edge that carried to the slip fielder. Padikkal took a smart low catch.

Mohammed Siraj got the tourists off to a perfect start but rain interrupted play again after the Day 1 washout without toss in the pink-ball warmup game.
At the time of writing, Australia PM XI were 21/1, with Sam Konstas and Jayden Goodwin are at the crease.
India got off to a brilliant start in the five-match Test series by winning the opening contest by a mammoth 295 runs. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Virat Kohli smashed centuries, while stand-in-captain Jasprit Bumrah bagged a five-wicket haul.
Skipper Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill missed the opening Test due to personal reasons and thumb injury, respectively. The duo will be hopeful of some game time in the warmup game against Australia PM XI ahead of the Pink-ball Test in Adelaide, which starts on December 6.
Notably, India were bundled out for 36 in the second innings during the 2020/21 Border-Gavaskar Trophy at the same venue. They will be keen to make amends in the ongoing 2024-25 tour.
