[Watch] Mominul Haque reaches his 13th ton with a boundary on Day 4 of IND vs BAN 2024 2nd Test

Experienced Bangladesh batter Mominul Haque showcased his class as he scored his 13th Test hundred on Day 4 of the second Test against India at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur on Monday, September 30. The left-handed batter reached the three-figure mark with a boundary and performed sajdah to celebrate his first century against India.

The moment occurred during the 66th over of the day, the final one before Lunch, as Mominul played a strong sweep off Ravichandran Ashwin, nailing it for a boundary to the square leg region. He became the second Bangladeshi to score a Test ton on Indian soil, joining Mushfiqur Rahim, who scored 127 in 2017 in Hyderabad.

Unlike the first Test in Chennai, the second in Kanpur has proved to be a damp squib as two days were completely washed out due to rain and a wet outfield after 35 overs were completed on the opening day. However, play started on time on Day 4.

The visitors had lost three wickets in the opening session of Day 4 as Mushfiqur Rahim was the first to perish after Jasprit Bumrah knocked him over. Litton Das and Shakib Al Hasan also soon returned to the pavilion.

Litton had smacked three boundaries but found the Indian captain at mid-off despite middling the ball as Rohit Sharma timed his jump to perfection to pluck the ball. Mohammed Siraj, meanwhile, took a stunning overhead catch at mid-off to see the back of Shakib. Bangladesh had reached 107 off 35 overs on Day 1, losing Zakir Hasan, Shadman Islam, and Najmul Hossain Shanto.

India lead the two-match series 1-0 after winning the Chennai Test by 280 runs.
