The voting is taking place in 43 out of the state’s 81 seats. There are a total of seven assembly constituencies in Ranchi.

MS Dhoni retained for INR 4 crore by CSK ahead of IPL 2025 auction

The Chennai Super Kings have retained MS Dhoni for INR 4 crore as an uncapped player ahead of the upcoming Indian Premier League auction. This came after the BCCI brought back the 2021 rule under which a player becomes uncapped if he has not played international cricket for the last five years.

CSK Chief Executive Kasi Viswanathan confirmed that Dhoni would end his career in Chennai. He said (via The Times of India):

“Knowing the passion he has for CSK, and also knowing the following he has, and he also mentioned in one of the interviews that he'll play his last game in Chennai.”

He added that CSK will back him as long as he wants to play:

“As long as MS wants to play, the doors are open. Knowing him, his commitment, and his dedication, I'm sure he'll always take the right decision.”

Kasi's reaction came days after Dhoni confirmed that he was looking to enjoy the last few years of his career. He said in a promotional event (via ESPNcricinfo):

"I just want to enjoy whatever last few years of cricket I'm able to play. Like how during our childhood we used to go out and play at 4[pm], just enjoying the game."
"But when you play professional sport it becomes difficult to enjoy the game just like a game. So what I want to do is, there are emotions and commitments, but I want to enjoy the game for the next few years," he added.

Notably, MS Dhoni has led the Super Kings to five IPL trophies.
