[Watch] MS Dhoni and Sakshi cut a cake to celebrate their 15th wedding anniversary

Former India captain MS Dhoni and his wife Sakshi cut a cake to celebrate their 15th wedding anniversary on Thursday, July 4. The couple first met in a hotel where Sakshi worked as an intern. They dated for a few years before tying the knot in 2010 in Dehradun. They welcomed their daughter Ziva on February 6, 2015.

In a video doing the rounds on social media, the couple can be seen cutting a black forest cake. One of their pets was also seen in the adorable video.

Sakshi, seven years younger than Dhoni, also shared throwback pictures to celebrate their journey. She captioned her Instagram post:

In MS Dhoni’s biopic, Kiara Advani played the role of Sakshi. The sports drama was a box office blockbuster with the late Sushant Singh Rajput portraying the role of Dhoni.

On the personal front, Dhoni and Sakshi enjoy a private life in a farmhouse in Ranchi, Jharkhand. The legendary wicketkeeper lives in his hometown barring the Indian Premier League (IPL). Sakshi often shares a glimpse of Dhoni on her social media platforms.

MS Dhoni, in an old interview, expressed his gratitude to his wife Sakshi for taking care of his family. The 42-year-old said in an event organized by Rigi App in 2023 (via Business Today):

"They are the pillar of strength in the family. Whether it is my wife or if I see my mom, they are the ones who run the family."
“She has a budget and she has to run the full 30 days or whatever. They are excellent at it. I feel that they are the ones who bring comfort into our family…you always fall back on them. You can ask them anything,” Dhoni added.

On the professional front, Dhoni played his last T20 for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their final league game against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in IPL 2024. The legendary player will turn 43 on Sunday, July 7.
