[Watch] MS Dhoni spotted at an NFL game in America during vacation with friends
Former India captain MS Dhoni recently traveled to the United States of America (USA) with his friends. The cricket star was spotted enjoying a National League Football (NFL) match during the vacation.
Dhoni's close friend Hitesh Sanghvi shared a video on his Instagram handle on Monday, September 16, giving fans a glimpse of the group enjoying NFL action in Michigan.
He captioned the post:
"Fun trip to michigan for American football and back.......with these amazing people...."
MS Dhoni announced his retirement from international cricket on August 15, 2020. However, he continues to play for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
The 43-year-old was last seen in action in IPL 2024. He handed over the captaincy reins to Ruturaj Gaikwad ahead of the edition. Dhoni dazzled viewers with his explosive cameos in the tournament, amassing 161 runs from 72 deliveries.
"When the rules get formalized, then we will decide" - MS Dhoni on his availability for IPL 2025
MS Dhoni not announcing his retirement following IPL 2024 has kept fans guessing about his plans. During a media interaction earlier this year, he suggested that his availability for IPL 2025 will depend on the retention rules.
He mentioned that CSK would take a call based on the rules and regulations of the upcoming mega auction.
"The rules and regulations will be made for retentions. There is still a lot of time for all that. We will decide once we get to know about the rules and regulations. The ball is not in our court right now. When the rules get formalized, then we will decide. We will have to make the decision that is best for the team because, at the end of the day, we all want the team to do well. So based on the rules, regulations, and retentions, we will see what is best for CSK, and we will take the best step forward," he said.
According to reports, CSK proposed reinstating the rule where a cricketer was termed an 'uncapped player' if he had been retired from international cricket for over five years. This rule would allow the franchise to retain Dhoni in the 'uncapped player' category
