[Watch] Muneeba Ali finishes off in style as Pakistan Women defeat UAE Women by 10 wickets

In a Group A match of the Women's Asia Cup T20 2024 on Tuesday, July 23, keeper-batter Muneeba Ali finished the game in style, hitting a four as Pakistan Women defeated the United Arab Emirates.

In the ninth game of the Asia Cup 2024 at Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium, Nida Dar won the toss and asked the UAE Women to bat first. Esha Rohit Oza’s team could only manage to score 103 runs in their allotted 20 overs.

While chasing a target of 109, Pakistan Women faced no difficulties and finished the game on the first ball of the 15th over when Muneeba Ali smashed a boundary to deep backward point.

Gull Feroza remained unbeaten on 62 off 55 balls, hitting eight boundaries in her innings. On the other hand, Muneeba Ali scored 37 runs off 30 balls as the Women in Green won the game by 10 wickets with 35 balls remaining.

This was the second consecutive 100-run partnership between Gull Feroza and Muneeba Ali.

Pakistan bowlers shine as they restrict the UAE to a low score

After being asked to bat first, the United Arab Women had a slow start as they only managed to score 24 runs in the powerplay. Pakistan got the first breakthrough in the seventh over, and after that, they kept taking wickets at regular intervals.

Sadia Iqbal, Nashra Sandhu, and Tuba Hassan bagged two wickets each for Pakistan as the UAE finished at 103/8 after 20 overs. Keeper-batter Theertha Satish (40 off 36 balls) was the highest scorer for the UAE.

In response, it was a brilliant effort from both Pakistani openers, Muneeba Ali and Gull Feroza, as they easily won the game.

Women in Green lost their first game against India but have since bounced back brilliantly. They beat Nepal in their second game by nine wickets, and now a convincing win against the UAE has put them in a strong position to qualify for the semi-finals.
