[Watch] Murali Vijay dances his heart out in commentary box after India wins T20 World Cup 2024 Final

Former Indian opener Murali Vijay was delighted after India won the T20 World Cup 2024 final against South Africa yesterday (June 29). Vijay, who was a Tamil commentator for Star Sports' coverage of the mega event, danced his heart out in the commentary box after India's win was confirmed.

India beat South Africa by seven runs in a nail-biting final yesterday at the Kensington Oval to become the T20 World Cup 2024 champions. This win marked India's first T20 World Cup triumph since 2007 and first men's ICC trophy since the year 2013.

Notably, Murali Vijay was a part of the Indian squad that won the Champions Trophy in 2013. While he has retired, he was overjoyed when the Men in Blue lifted the T20 World Cup without losing a single game in the entire competition.

Murali Vijay's connection with T20 World Cups taking place in the West Indies

Murali Vijay was one of the most stylish batters of his era. After an epic performance for Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2010, Vijay received his maiden T20I cap on the grand stage of the T20 World Cup in 2010. He scored a match-winning 48 on his debut against Afghanistan.

Incidentally, even that T20 World Cup took place in the West Indies, the co-host for the 2024 T20 World Cup. While India could not win the T20 World Cup in West Indies in 2010, the Men in Blue won the trophy yesterday at the Kensington Oval with a fantastic win against an undefeated South African side.
