Team India's T20I stars Suryakumar Yadav, Sanju Samson, and Tilak Varma wished Rohit Sharma after he became a father for the second time on Friday, November 15. India's Test and ODI captain shared a post on his official Instagram handle on Saturday to confirm the news.
India beat South Africa by 135 runs in the fourth and final T20I of the series at The Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg on Friday. Batting first after winning the toss, the Men in Blue put up a huge total of 283-1 as both Samson and Varma struck unbeaten hundreds. In response, the Proteas were bowled out for 148.
On Saturday, November 16, BCCI.tv shared a video in which T20I skipper Suryakumar had a lighthearted interaction with Varma and Samson over their batting exploits in the four-match series in South Africa. The video ended with all three sharing their wishes for Rohit following the news that he had become a father again.
"Really very happy for you, Rohit bhai. We were waiting for this moment, and had it been 1-2 days later, I would have joined you there. I am coming soon," Varma said.
"Super happy for chetta (elder brother in Malayalam) and his family," Samson added.
On his part, Suryakumar cheekily remarked:
"Lagta hum logon ready hona padega chota side arm aur chote chode pads leke. Naya cricketer aur ek aaya hai (Now we have to get ready with a small side arm and small pads as a new cricketer has arrived)."

Rohit Sharma likely to miss Perth Test: Reports
The Indian captain did not travel to Australia with the rest of the team for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy as he wanted to be with his family for the birth of his second child. There was uncertainty over his availability for the first Test in Perth, which starts on November 22.
As per a recent report in The Times of India, the 37-year-old is set to miss the opening Test of the five-match series. A source was quoted as telling TOI:
"Yes, Rohit Sharma will not be featuring in the first Test. He wants to spend some more time with his family and the new-born and the Indian cricket board completely respects his decision."
Meanwhile, Shubman Gill's availability for the Perth Test is also doubtful. He suffered a thumb injury while fielding in the slips on Day 2 of India's intra-squad training match at the WACA.
