[Watch] Nitish Reddy reverse sweeps Scott Boland for a massive six in BGT 2024-25 2nd Test

On a day where the Indian batters have struggled more often than not against the Australian quicks, a young Nitish Reddy has shown his fearless approach at the Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25 second Test at Adelaide.

Walking into bat after the dismissal of Rohit Sharma in the 26th over, Nitish Reddy made a slightly cautious start to his innings. However, the 21-year-old, playing just his second Test, seemed to have gotten into his own at Adelaide, giving it back to the Australians after their domination with the ball.

On the second ball of the 42nd over against Scott Boland, Nitish Reddy smashed him for a massive six. What made this shot special is that it was not a normal hit, but a reverse-scopped six over slips against Boland, who had been bowling well.

Reddy got into position in quick time and made a sweet connection, such that the ball traveled all the way into the stands. He took the attack to Boland, smashing him for another six on the fourth delivery of the same over.

With eight wickets down and India under tremendous pressure, Nitish Reddy displayed terrific courage to not only attempt a reverse-scoop off a fast bowler but also send it all the way for a handsome six, taking the counter attacking approach.

Nitish Reddy smashes Mitchell Starc for a brilliant six over deep extra covers

Under extreme pressure, a young Nitish Reddy took it upon himself to take the attack to the Australian quicks and score some quick and vital runs for India in the first innings of the ongoing second Test at Adelaide.

Before his unbelieavble six against Scott Boland, Nitish played another terrific shot that was as pleasing to the eye as it can get. On the first delivery of the 41st over by Mitchell Starc, the young right-hander stretched his arms to play a lofted shot over deep extra cover on a 140.2kph delivery to smash it for an incredible six.

Starc had already picked up five wickets before he came in to bowl this over and troubled the Indian batters with the pink ball. However, Nitish did not seem to fear the in-form pacer and took him on to play a shot that one can keep watching and admiring over and over again.

Starc eventually came back to get the better of Nitish, dismissing him for 42 on the first ball of the 45th over. However, his late surge helped India get to 180 before being bowled out.
