England Test vice-captain Ollie Pope switched on his T20 mode during The Hundred clash between London Spirit and Welsh Fire at Lord’s, London on Thursday, August 1. The right-handed batter hit a reverse ramp shot for a six.
The stunning shot came off the 16th delivery of London’s run chase. Matt Henry bowled a full-length ball and Pope reversed his stance and used the pace on the ball to deposit the ball straight behind the wicketkeeper for a maximum.

Ollie Pope is coming on the back of an impressive Test series against the West Indies. The 26-year-old slammed a century and two fifties against the Windies. With 239 runs in four innings, Pope was the second-leading run-getter in the series, only behind former England captain Joe Root (291). He will now look to weave his magic with the bat in The Hundred.

A clinical bowling display from Welsh Fire put London Spirit’s chase in a spot of bother in The Hundred.
At the time of writing, London were 46-4 after 52 deliveries with Ravi Bopara and Shimron Hetmyer at the crease. Ollie Pope departed for 12 runs off nine deliveries.
Asked to bat first, Welsh Fire put up 94-9 in their allotted 100 balls. Liam Dawson and Nathan Ellis starred with the ball for London Spirit, returning with three wickets apiece, while Daniel Worrall, Olly Stone, and Andre Russell bagged one wicket each.
The two teams will be keen to return to winnings ways in the T20 tournament.
London Spirit have lost their first two games against Southern Brave and Birmingham Phoenix. They will next face off against Oval Invincibles at Lord’s in London on August 4.
On the other hand, Welsh Fire opened their campaign on a winning note against Manchester Originals but lost to Oval Invincibles in their second game. They will next lock horns with Trent Rockets at Trent Bridge in Nottingham on August 3.
