[Watch] Oval Invincibles' Sam Curran cleans up Alex Davies with a brilliant slow delivery in The Hundred Men’s Competiton
Oval Invincibles’ all-rounder Sam Curran bowled an excellent slower delivery to dismiss Southern Brave opener Alex Davies. It came in the 22nd match of The Hundred Men’s Competition 2024 on Thursday, August 8 at Kennington Oval in London.
The dismissal took place on the 18th ball. Sam Curran bowled a slower delivery that pitched around the leg and moved away to beat the outside edge of Alex Davies. The latter didn’t pick it up as the ball went on to hit the off-stump.

The right-handed batter, Alex Davies, had a poor outing as he struggled during his stay at the crease. The Southern Brave opener scored five runs off 11 balls. Davies’ wickets left his side at 14/1 after 18 balls.
Oval Invincibles bowlers put Southern Brave on the backfoot
Oval Invincibles captain Sam Billings won the toss and chose to field first. The Southern Brave batters struggled to score freely as Sam Curran got the first wicket in the form of Alex Davies. The West Indian batter Andre Fletcher came in at No. 3 and only scored one run off eight balls before Tom Curran dismissed him.
Will Jacks got the third wicket for the the Invincibles by getting rid of Leus du Plooy on four. Meanwhile, Laurie Evans was removed by Adam Zampa as the Southern Brave found themselves at 31/4.
At the time of writing, the Southern Brave were 46/4 after 60 balls, with James Vince (27) and Kieron Pollard (8) at the crease.
