[Watch] Pakistani kid imitates Jasprit Bumrah’s action in viral video
Indian speedster Jasprit Bumrah has established himself as one of the best bowlers in cricket. The speedster has a huge fan following in both India and abroad. His ability to bowl yorkers with pinpoint accuracy makes him one of the most lethal bowlers in the world.
In a video doing the rounds on X (formerly Twitter), a young fan in Pakistan can be seen imitating Bumrah with precision. The neighboring country has produced some of the best pacers such as Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Shoaib Akhtar Shaheen Afridi, etc. Interestingly, the kid chose to follow Bumrah.

Jasprit Bumrah recently played a huge role in helping India win in the 2024 T20 World Cup final against South Africa. The 30-year-old conceded only four and two runs in the 16th and 18th overs, respectively, when the Proteas needed run-a-ball 30. He was also adjudged as Player of the Series, picking up 15 wickets in eight matches at a mind-boggling economy rate of 4.17.
“Legend in all three formats” – Pakistan’s Ramiz Raja lauds Jasprit Bumrah
Former Pakistan cricketer Ramiz Raja recently lauded Jasprit Bumrah for his versatility across formats. The ex-PCB chief credited Bumrah for his comeback story after a lengthy injury layoff and becoming a match-winner. Raja said on his YouTube channel (via NDTV):
"In my book, Jasprit Bumrah is a legend in all three formats. There is no one greater who has played all three formats. So you can see, where this boy came from, he lacked confidence, had an awkward bowling action. He was unfit, but he came back, and now he has made India win the World Cup.”
Former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram had also lauded Bumrah in an old conversation, calling him ‘top of the ladder’. Akram told A-Sports (via NDTV):
"He is the best in the world right now. Top of the ladder! The control, the pace, the variations, just a complete bowler. A treat to watch."
“Sometimes I couldn't control the ball also but Bumrah definitely has better control with the new ball than myself,” he added.
Bumrah has represented India in 36 Tests, 89 ODIs, and 70 T20Is, bagging 397 wickets across formats. The 30-year-old might next be seen in action during India's tour of Sri Lanka.
