[Watch] Pat Cummins dismisses Kamran Ghulam with a snorter in AUS vs PAK 1st ODI 2024

Australian captain Pat Cummins bowled a peach of a delivery to dismiss debutant Kamran Ghulam in the ongoing first ODI of the three-match series against Pakistan on Monday, November 4. The game is being held at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

The dismissal happened on the final delivery of the 19th over of Pakistan’s innings. Before the delivery, skipper Cummins adjusted the field for a short ball and bowled a well-aimed bouncer targeting Kamran's head.

Kamran attempted to evade it by jumping and fending off, but the ball deflected off his gloves and went directly to the wicketkeeper Josh Inglis, who took a straightforward catch.

Here’s a video of the dismissal:

The right-handed batter had a challenging debut, managing only 5 runs off six balls, including one boundary. His dismissal left Pakistan at 70 for four after 19 overs.

Kamran first made headlines last month when he debuted in the Test series against England, replacing former captain Babar Azam. The 29-year-old impressed by scoring a century in his first innings, finishing with a total of 147 runs across two matches.

Australia won the toss and elected to bowl first. Pacer Mitchell Starc secured an early breakthrough for the hosts by dismissing Saim Ayub for just 1 in the third over. Starc struck again, taking the wicket of Abdullah Shafique for 12, marking his second dismissal of the match.

Babar Azam showed promise before being dismissed by Adam Zampa for 37 runs off 44 balls. Debutant Kamran Ghulam managed only 5, and Agha Salman contributed a modest 12. The new Pakistani captain Mohammad Rizwan scored 44 off 71 balls.

At the time of writing, the visitors were struggling at 117 for six after 32 overs, with Irfan Khan on 4 and Shaheen Afridi yet to score.
