[Watch] Pat Cummins traps India's last savior with excellent bouncer to bag fifer in 2nd BGT 2024-25 Test

Australia captain Pat Cummins dismissed Nitish Kumar Reddy with a well-executed bouncer to bag a fifer against India on Day 3 of the second Test in Adelaide on Sunday, December 8. Reddy hit the ball straight to third man while looking for an uppercut.

The right-handed batter departed after scoring 42 runs off 47 balls, a knock laced with one six and six boundaries. He ensured that India avoided an innings defeat in the pink-ball Test.

The dismissal came in the 36th over of India’s second innings. Cummins bowled an angled in delivery wide of off with extra bounce on offer. Reddy leaned back to play an uppercut but holed out to Nathan McSweeney, who didn’t have to move an inch as the ball came straight down his throat. Reddy expressed his disappointment at picking out the fielder.

Nitish Kumar Reddy has been a real find for India, returning with scores of 41, 38*, 42, and 42 in his four innings Down Under so far. He is also handy with the ball.

Meanwhile, Pat Cummins finished with figures of 5/57 after returning with two wickets in the first innings.


Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc's fifers set up Australia’s win against India in 2nd Test

Fifers from skipper Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc have set up a famous win for Australia in the second Test. Starc finished with 6/48 to help the hosts bundle out India for 180 in the first essay.

In response, the hosts posted 337 in their first innings, taking a 157-run lead. Travis Head smashed a brilliant 140 off 141 balls.

Australia need just 19 runs to win the pink-ball Test as the visitors were bowled out for 175 in the second innings. A win would also help them bounce back in the series, having lost the series opener by 295 runs. Notably, the Aussies have never lost a day/night Test, winning their previous seven on the trot.
