[Watch] Pooja Vastrakar takes magnificent catch at boundary to dismiss centurion Marizanne Kapp, breaks 184-run partnership in IND-W vs SA-W 2nd ODI
India Women’s all-rounder Pooja Vastrakar took a well-judged catch at boundary ropes to dismiss South Africa Women’s star player Marizanne Kapp in the second ODI at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Wednesday (June 19). With the catch, Vastrakar also ended the 184-run fourth-wicket partnership between Kapp and Proteas captain Laura Wolvaardt. Kapp departed for 114 runs off 94 balls, smashing three sixes and 11 boundaries.
The dismissal came in the 43rd over of South Africa’s run-chase. Deepti Sharma bowled a tossed-up delivery and Kapp went hard at it but mistimed the shot. The ball got enough height but no real distance.
Vastrakar took the skier near the boundary ropes and claimed the catch but put her right foot near the boundary skirting. The TV umpire took just one look before calling it out. Kapp looked convinced even before the decision and walked away to the pavilion.
