[Watch] Prithvi Shaw's dance video from his birthday party goes viral
Indian opening batter Prithvi Shaw celebrated his 25th birthday on Saturday, November 9. The youngster ringed in his birthday with his close friends.
Once touted to be India's next batting sensation, Shaw has fallen out of favor with the national selectors after a string of underwhelming performances. His career has also been marred by some controversies and he has often found himself in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons.
A video from Shaw's birthday party has gone viral on social media in which the right-handed batter can be seen dancing with his friends. You can watch the clip below:
It is worth mentioning that Prithvi Shaw grabbed headlines after being dropped from Mumbai's squad in the ongoing Ranji Trophy. According to reports, the batter's omission was due to fitness issues, with the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) asking him to shed some kilos.
He registered scores of 7 and 12 in Mumbai's opening fixture against Baroda. He failed to turn things around in the subsequent clash with Maharashtra, scoring 1 and 39*. While Shaw was dropped from Mumbai's Ranji Trophy squad after two matches, he has been named in the team's 28-member probable list for the upcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
"Surround yourself with people who inspire you to improve" - Greg Chappell's message to Prithvi Shaw
Australian cricket legend Greg Chappell penned down a letter for Prithvi Shaw, urging the swashbuckling batter to make changes to his lifestyle. He mentioned that the player could still make a comeback to the Indian team if he puts in some hard work.
Chappell was quoted as saying by The Times of India:
"The past doesn't define you, Prithvi. It's what you do from here that matters. You're still in your prime, with so many years ahead to make your mark. Take this time to visualize the cricketer and person you want to become. Surround yourself with people who inspire you to improve.
"Take care of your body, get the right amount of rest, and build the strength and focus you need. The door back to the Indian team is open if you're willing to walk through it, but it takes a commitment to growth and change," he added.
Prithvi Shaw was recently released by the Delhi Capitals (DC) ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction. He has registered his name for the IPL 2025 auction at a base price of ₹75 lakh.
