[Watch] Prithvi Shaw trains intensely in the nets after a lengthy injury hiatus

Prithvi Shaw recently resumed batting sessions in the nets as he recovers from a knee injury. The swashbuckling batter has been out of action since August last year. He got injured while playing for Northamptonshire in an English domestic one-day competition.

Shaw performed well for them by scoring 429 runs across four innings before suffering an unfortunate knee injury, which ended his stint prematurely. He took some treatment and then did rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore.

Prithvi has missed the first two games of Mumbai in the ongoing Ranji Trophy and will be aiming to make a comeback soon.

The 24-year-old shared a video on his Instagram story to give his fans a positive update regarding his comeback. In it, he can be seen facing deliveries in the nets in full tilt, which indicates he might be in action soon.

Prithvi Shaw was recently retained by the Delhi Capitals (DC) franchise for the upcoming IPL 2024. The DC management's decision has surprised a few, as Shaw struggled for runs in the previous season and was also dropped from the playing XI. It will be interesting to see if Prithvi will repay the faith of his management with his batting performances in the coming season.

"Players who have played with him have gone ahead"- Anil Kumble on Prithvi Shaw

Former Indian captain Anil Kumble recently opined that Prithvi Shaw needs to introspect and try to realize his true potential. Kumble pointed out that his peers like Shubman Gill have left him behind and established themselves in international cricket. Anil Kumble said on Jio Cinema:

"This is something that he needs to understand. Players who have played with him have gone ahead. For example Shubman Gill, who is one of India's best players, and a young player who is looking at a future with the team for a long time. And Shaw has missed out on that. So this is simply a make or break season for him."
