Team India spin bowling all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin's 113-run knock ended on Day 2 (Friday, September 20) of the first Test between India and Bangladesh. M.A. Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, is playing host to the first of the two matches in the series.
Ashwin continued from his overnight score of 106 and got a few runs under his belt, including a boundary. The dismissal occurred on the fifth ball of the 91st over when the 38-year-old decided to go after Taskin Ahmed but skied it up in the air and was caught by Najmul Hossain Shanto. Ashwin scored 113 runs in 133 balls, featuring 11 fours and two sixes.

Ashwin scored his sixth Test hundred and his fourth at the venue. This also happens to be his first Test century against Bangladesh after scoring two against Australia and three against England.
Team India all out for 376 on Day 2 of the IND vs BAN 2024 1st Test
Bangladesh won the toss and asked India to bat first on Day 1 of the first Test on Thursday. The visitors started nicely, picking up the wickets of Rohit Sharma (6 off 19), Shubman Gill (0 off 8), and Virat Kohli (6 off 6), and reducing the hosts to 34/3 in the first hour of the day's play.
Yashasvi Jaiswal (56 off 118) and Rishabh Pant (39 off 52) stitched a 62-run partnership in the middle but Bangladesh struck again and had Team India at 144/6. After that, Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja (86 off 124) added 199 runs and helped the hosts reach 376 in 91.2 overs.
Bangladesh have lost an early wicket (Shadman Islam) and are 8/1 after three overs. Zakir Hasan and Bangladesh skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto are out in the middle for the visitors.
