[Watch] Radha Yadav takes an absolutely stunning diving catch to get India's first wicket in 2024 Women's T20 World Cup clash vs Sri Lanka

Radha Yadav took a screamer to get India going in their crucial defense of 173 runs versus Sri Lanka in the Women's 2024 T20 World Cup in Dubai. She came out as a substitute fielder at the Dubai International Stadium on Wednesday, October 9. She earned India and pacer Renuka Singh the wicket of opener Vishmi Gunaratne on the second ball of the innings.

Gunaratne had come out with the mindset to hit it from the first ball. She just edged on in front of mid-on on the first ball. She then tried to come down the track and flick it over mid-wicket on a good-length ball just after that. The ball moved away off the seam and took an edge high over the point region, at the edge of the circle.

Radha was placed at backward point. She tracked back almost 17 meters and settled under it, despite the blinding lights and the point fielder chasing with her. Once settled, as the ball was falling, she put in a big dive to her left and across to grab it a couple of feet over the ground. She was swamped by her teammates in celebration.

Radha was in as the substitute for Harmanpreet Kaur, the skipper. The latter came to this game with a neck strain she suffered while batting in the last match. However, she didn't show any signs of discomfort, smashing a whirlwind 52* (27) in the second half of India's innings to take the score to the highest for the tournament.

Her absence from the second innings was almost certainly precautionary.

India register a clinical win against Sri Lanka

Catches (easier ones) kept coming Radha's way all evening as India bowled Sri Lanka out for a measly 90 runs. Arundhati Reddy and Asha Sobhana picked three wickets each on the sluggish wicket. The Women in Blue registered a massive 82-run win which took their NRR beyond close competitors New Zealand in the table.
