Rahmanullah Gurbaz starred with the bat for Afghanistan in the third and final ODI against Bangladesh in Sharjah on Monday, November 11. The right-handed batter brought up his eighth century in just his 46th innings and third against Bangladesh.
Gurbaz scored 101 runs off 120 balls, an innings laced with seven sixes and five boundaries. The 22-year-old also shared a 100-run partnership with Amzatullah Omarzai for the fourth wicket to rescue his team from 84-3. He was eventually caught by Zakir Hasan at deep square leg off Mehidy Hasan Miraz.
Gurbaz achieved the milestone in the 38th over of Afghanistan's run chase. Soumya Sarkar bowled a length ball on the pads and Gurbaz guided it towards deep square leg for a single. The wicketkeeper-batter raised his bat before kissing the badge on his helmet. He hugged his batting partner Omarzai while his teammates stood up to applaud in the dressing room. He then performed a sajda.

With the knock, Gurbaz returned to form after managing five and two runs in the last two ODIs.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz's century and Azmatullah Omarzai's fifty helped Afghanistan fight back against Bangladesh in the third ODI.
Afghanistan reached the target in 48.2 overs, with Omarzai and Mohammad Nabi at the crease. Nahid Rana and Mustafizur Rahman bagged two wickets apiece.
Batting first, Bangladesh posted 244/8 in their allotted 50 overs. Mahmadullah top scored with a run-a-ball 98 with the help of three sixes and seven boundaries. Meanwhile, stand-in-captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz also chipped in with 66 off 119 deliveries, comprising four boundaries. The duo put on a 145-run partnership for the fifth wicket after the team was reduced to 72-4.
Azmatullah Omarzai emerged as the leading wicket-taker for Afghanistan, returning with figures of 4/37. Mohammad Nabi and Rashid Khan also bagged one wicket apiece.
Afghanistan, as a result, have won the three-match series 2-1. They won the series opener by 92 runs before Bangladesh registered a 68-run victory in the second match.
