[Watch] Rashid Khan scores a crucial fifty in MINY vs TSK MLC 2024 Eliminator clashÂ
MI New York all-rounder Rashid Khan stepped up for the franchise just when it mattered by scoring 55 runs off 30 deliveries in the ongoing Major League Cricket (MLC) 2024 Eliminator clash against the Texas Super Kings (TSK). The Afghanistan international's efforts took his side to 163-8 at the end of the first innings at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas, Texas.
Rashid came into bat at No.5 in the 11th over following the dismissal of Shayan Jahangir. He struck up a partnership with USA batter Monank Patel, and showed his intent right away by taking Dwayne Bravo for consecutive boundaries early into his innings. He also did not spare his international teammate Noor Ahmed, hitting a slew of boundaries off his bowling.
Rashid's knock saw a brief lull before he exploded in the death overs. He hit Aaron Hardie for consecutive sixes, and scored more boundaries off Noor Ahmed to reach the fifty-run mark. This marked the fourth time that he scored a fifty in the shortest format.

Rashid Khan was eventually dismissed in the penultimate over by Marcus Stoinis. His innings comprised four fours and four sixes at a strike rate of 183.33.
Rashid Khan bowled a tight spell in the second innings
There was a short burst of rain during the innings break, which made the situation tougher for MI New York than it already was. The Kieron Pollard-led side struggled to break the veteran opening combination of Faf du Plessis and Devon Conway.
Amid the openers' solid partnership for the first wicket which hurt MI New York's defense, Rashid Khan chipped in with some tight overs. The leg-spinner was introduced into the attack in the fourth over, where he conceded only four runs. He continued to operate in the middle overs, giving away a total of 15 runs in his three overs so far.
As of writing, TSK are cruising in the run chase, with leading run-scorer of the tournament, Faf du Plessis, adding yet another fifty to his tally.
