Indian leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi was on fire as he took three wickets against Sri Lanka during the second game of a three-match T20I series on Sunday, July 28. The match was played at Pallekele International Stadium in Pallekele.
Suryakumar Yadav won the toss and elected to bowl first. Left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh got the first wicket for Men in Blue when he dismissed Kusal Mendis on 10 in the fourth over.
Ravi Bishnoi broke the 54-partnership for the second between Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Perera in the 10th over as the former was trapped in front of the wickets. Nissanka scored 32 runs off 24 balls.
In the 17th over of the Sri Lankan innings, Bishnoi took back-to-back wickets. The leg-spinner first dismissed Dasun Shanaka on the third ball of the over. The all-rounder got chopped on as he tried to hit the ball towards cover. Shanaka went without troubling the scorers.
On the next ball, he dismissed former Sri Lankan captain Wanindu Hasaranga. The right-handed batter tried a slog-sweep but missed it completely as the balls hit the stumps. Hasaranga’s wicket left his team at 140/6 in 16.4 overs.

Sri Lanka lost the plot after a good start
After being asked to bat first, Sri Lanka lost Kusal Mendis early. Pathum Nissanka (32) and Kusal Perera (53) stitched together a 54-run partnership for the second wicket to bring things on track for Sri Lanka.
After 15 overs, Sri Lanka was 130/2 with Kusal Perera (53 off 33 balls) and Kamindu Mendis (26 off 22 balls) at the crease. However, the hosts' hopes of scoring a big total were shattered in the last five overs, as they only managed to add 31 runs and lost seven wickets.
Sri Lankan batters fell one after another as Indian bowlers took things under their control. Ravi Bishnoi took three wickets, while Arshdeep Singh, Axar Patel, and Hardik Pandya bagged two.
In reply, the Indians were 6/0 in 0.3 over at the time of writing, with play stopped owing to inclement weather.
