[Watch] Ravi Bishnoi strikes twice to dismiss Brian Benett and Wessly Madhevere in IND vs ZIM 1st T20I
Ravi Bishnoi dismissed Brian Benett and Wessly Madhevere to strike twice in the ongoing opener of the five-match T20I series between India and Zimbabwe at Harare Sports Club on Saturday, July 6. The leg-spinner struck off his first ball by cleaning up Benett (23 off 15 balls) before dismissing Madhevere (21 off 22 deliveries) in his next over.
The dismissals came in the fifth and eighth overs of Zimbabwe's innings. In the first dismissal, Bishnoi bowled a googly and Benett went for a drive but missed the line completely as the ball hit the top of the stumps. The bail also came off but the decision was sent to the TV umpire, who declared it out.
Bishnoi bowled another googly to dismiss Madhevere. The batter went for a slog sweep but missed the trajectory of the ball.

Ravi Bishnoi recently bagged 10 wickets in 14 matches for Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2024. The 23-year-old has also bagged 40 wickets in 25 T20Is. He will now look to cement a place in T20Is after failing to find a place in the squad for the 2024 T20 World Cup.
Ravi Bishnoi takes 4-wicket haul as India restrict Zimbabwe to 115/9
A clinical bowling display from Ravi Bishnoi helped India restrict Zimbabwe to 115/9 in the T20I series opener on Saturday. The leg-spinner took his second four-wicket haul in T20Is, finishing with exceptional figures of 4/13, including two maidens.
Apart from Wessly Madhevere and Brian Benett, captain Sikandar Raza and Dion Myers also got starts, scoring 17 (19) and 23 (22), respectively. The duo, however, failed to take Zimbabwe to a fighting score. Wicketkeeper-batter Clive Madande scored an unbeaten 29 off 25 to help the team cross the three-figure mark.
Washington Sundar bagged two wickets for India while Mukesh Kumar and Avesh Khan bagged one wicket apiece.
The Men in Blue are chasing the record of 13 consecutive wins in T20Is, a feat achieved by no other full-member ICC teams. Team India are currently level with Afghanistan with 12 successive wins in the format.
