[Watch] Ravichandran Ashwin hit a huge six against IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans in TNPL
Ravichandran Ashwin was on fire as he hit a massive hit against Sai Kishore in Qualifier 2 of the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) on Friday, August 2. Qualifier 2 of the TNPL pitted the Dindigul Dragons against the IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
Batting first, IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans was bowled out on 108 runs in 19.4 overs. In reply, Dindigul captain R. Ashwin came to open alongside Vimal Khumar. Ashwin broke the shackles by hitting three fours in the fourth over against S Ajith Ram.
The right-handed batter carried the momentum as he hit a 90-meter six on the second ball of the fifth over by Sai Kishore. The Dindigul captain backed away and smashed the ball over long-on for a maximum. He then struck two consecutive boundaries on the following deliveries.

The Tamil Nadu cricketer remained unbeaten on 69 runs off 30 balls, hitting 11 fours and three sixes. Dindigul Dragons won the game by nine wickets with 55 balls remaining as they qualified for the final of the TNPL 2024.
Ashwin’s side will face Lyca Kovai Kings in the final on Sunday, August 4, at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
A brilliant bowling display helped set the match for the Dindigul Dragons
Ashwin won the toss and chose to field first, and his bowlers didn’t disappoint. The off-spinner took the first wicket by dismissing IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans’ opener Tushar Raheja (8) in the fourth over.
After that, the Dindigul bowlers kept chipping away as Tamizhans' batters struggled to stitch a decent partnership. Maan Bafna (26 off 19 balls) was the highest scorer for IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans, as they got bowled out on 108 in 19.4 overs.
P Vignesh took three wickets, while Varun Chakravarthy and Suboth Bhati bagged two. In response, the Dindigul captain led from the front as they registered an easy victory.
