[Watch] Ravindra Jadeja rattles leg stump to dismiss Najmul Shanto in IND vs BAN 2024 2nd Test
Ravindra Jadeja bowled Bangladesh captain Najmul Shanto in the second Test at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur on Day 5 (Tuesday, October 1). Shanto looked all at sea as he tried to play a reverse sweep, departing for 19 runs off 37 balls.
The dismissal came in the 28th over of Bangladesh’s second innings. The left-arm spinner bowled a straight delivery on the leg stump as Shanto attempted a reverse sweep but missed it altogether. The ball crashed onto the leg stump.

Ravindra Jadeja broke the 55-run partnership between Shanto and Shadman Islam with the wicket.
Jadeja had taken a solitary wicket in the first innings to bag his 300th Test scalp. He is only the third India all-rounder after Ravichandran Ashwin and Kapil Dev to score 3,000 runs and pick up 300 wickets in Test cricket.
The 35-year-old had picked up five wickets in the first Test, which the hosts won by a mammoth 280 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the two-match series. In that game, he also scored 86 runs, sharing a 199-run partnership with Ashwin after India were reduced to 144/6 in the first innings.

India’s bowling coach Morne Morkel has lauded Ravindra Jadeja for completing 300 wickets in Tests. The South African called the ace all-rounder a complete package for his contributions across all departments.
Morkel told reporters at the end of Day 4 (via India Today):
"For me, he's a complete package. He bats, he bowls, he's a guy in the field that can make magic happen. Always a guy that you want in your team, and he's done that for so many years for India.”
"It's quite special to be in this environment. Excited to see how they operate. I come to serve these players, share knowledge, share experience,” he added.
