[Watch] RCB star leads Madhya Pradesh to thumping win in SMAT 2024 semifinal against Delhi

IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bengaluru player Rajat Patidar delivered a stunning half-century while captaining Madhya Pradesh in their semi-final match of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) 2024 against Delhi. The game took place on Friday, December 13, at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Chasing 147, Madhya Pradesh did not get off to an ideal start, losing Arpit Gaud (0) and Subhranshu Senapati (7), both dismissed by veteran pacer Ishant Sharma. Harsh Gawli played a solid knock of 30 off 18 balls before being dismissed by Himanshu Chauhan.

Rajat Patidar came in at No. 5 and quickly found his rhythm, building a good partnership with Harpreet Singh Bhatia. Patidar went on the attack in the 13th over against Harsh Tyagi, hitting two boundaries and a six. The 31-year-old then smacked two consecutive sixes off Suyash Sharma in the following over, bringing up his fifty off just 23 balls.

Patidar remained unbeaten on 66 off 29 balls, smashing four boundaries and six sixes, while Harpreet finished at 46* off 38 balls, with the help of four boundaries and two sixes.

The duo put together an unbroken partnership of 106 runs off 57 balls, guiding Madhya Pradesh to a seven-wicket victory over Delhi with 26 balls to spare.

Asked to bat first, Delhi's opener Yash Dhull had a tough time, managing just 11 runs off 18 balls before being dismissed by Tripuresh Singh. His opening partner, Priyansh Arya, scored 29 off 21 balls.

Skipper Ayush Badoni (19) and Himmat Singh (15) both got starts but were dismissed in the same over by Venkatesh Iyer, halting Delhi's momentum.

Mayank Rawat scored 24 off 21 balls, including one four and one six. Meanwhile, Anuj Rawat remained unbeaten on 33 off 24 balls, helping Delhi finish at 146/5 in their 20 overs.
