[Watch] Renuka Singh Thakur strikes twice in an over to dismiss Mooney and Wareham in IND vs AUS 2024 Women's T20 World Cup clash

Team India Pace bowler Renuka Singh Thakur was potent with the new ball yet again as she dismissed Beth Mooney and Georgia Wareham off consecutive deliveries during the crucial clash against Australia. The two heavyweights are pitted against each other in their final group stage clash in Sharjah on Sunday, October 13.

Australia stand-in skipper Tahlia McGrath opted to bat first after winning the toss, with Grace Harris and Beth Mooney being up against Renuka's swing bowling right away. The new opening pair were kept in check, especially by Shreyanka Patil's tight first over.

Renuka Singh made her swing count in her next over to strike off the fourth and the fifth deliveries. Beth Mooney attempted to play a stroke towards the off side, but ended up splicing it to point where Radha Yadav took a sharp catch. Georgia Wareham, coming in at No.3, was trapped in front by a booming inswinger.

Wareham opted against taking a review, while replays showed that the ball would have missed the stumps. Have a look at both dismissals right here:

Stand-in skipper Tahlia McGrath joined forces with Grace Harris to amend the situation after a shaky start. The duo negotiated the remainder of the powerplay, ending with 37 runs at the end of six overs.

With a lengthy batting order, Australia will look to accelerate in the middle overs. Team India are without their chief spinner Asha Sobhana for the clash as she suffered a last-minute injury, paving the way for Radha Yadav to be included in the playing XI.
