[Watch] Rishabh Pant bowls in the inaugural match of Delhi Premier League 2024
Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant bowled in the inaugural season of the Delhi Premier League on Saturday, August 17. The opening game saw Purani Dilli 6 take on the South Delhi Superstarz at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
The moment of interest took place during the final over of South Delhi’s innings. With Ayush Badoni’s side needing only one run to win, Pant decided to bowl. He delivered a single ball, a full toss that Digvesh Rathi guided for a single, allowing the South Delhi Superstarz to start their campaign on a bright note.

Chasing 198, openers Priyansh Arya and Sarthak Ray put together 87 runs for the first wicket off just 41 balls before Ray was dismissed for 41. Priyansh scored 57 off 30 balls with the aid of three boundaries and four sixes.
Captain Ayush Badoni, batting at No. 3, played a gem of an innings, scoring 57 off 29 balls, including one four and six sixes, bringing the Superstarz close to the winning line.
Despite losing some quick wickets towards the end, South Delhi won the game by three wickets with five balls remaining.
Rishabh Pant scored 35 runs for Purani Dilli 6
After being asked to bat first, Purani Dilli 6 lost opener Manjeet (13) in the third over. His partner Arpit Rana played a brilliant innings of 59 off 41 balls, hitting eight fours and two sixes.
Captain Rishabh Pant came in at No. 3 but didn't quite find his best form. The left-handed batter scored 35 off 32 balls with the help of four fours and one six.
Towards the end, Lalit Yadav and Vansh Bedi were outstanding, forming an unbeaten partnership of 79 runs off 34 balls. Lalit scored 34* off 21 balls, while Vansh remained unbeaten on 47 off 19 balls, hitting four boundaries and four sixes. Purani Dilli 6 finished at 197-3 in their allotted 20 overs.
In reply, Ayush Badoni led from the front for South Delhi, ensuring they started their tournament on a winning note.
