[Watch] Rishabh Pant gives autograph to elated fans amid 2024 T20 World Cup

India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant recently gave autographs to his fans amid the ongoing 2024 T20 World Cup. The gesture seemingly came during a training session in Florida, where India's last group-stage game against Canada was abandoned due to a wet outfield. The Men in Blue have moved to Barbados for their next assignment – the Super Eight stage.

In a video shared on X (formerly Twitter), Pant can be seen reaching out to fans to give autographs on a bat and a cap.

On the batting front, Pant has been magnificent for the Men in Blue following his comeback to international cricket more than a year after surviving a car crash. The left-hander has returned with scores of 36*, 42, and 18 against Ireland, Pakistan, and co-hosts USA, respectively. India won all three games to qualify for the next round.

The 26-year-old has also taken seven catches in just three games. Pant will now look to continue his purple patch in the second round.

“Best is yet to come” – Ishant Sharma backs Rishabh Pant to deliver in 2024 T20 World Cup remaining matches

Ace pacer Ishant Sharma, Rishabh Pant’s Delhi Capitals teammate, has backed him to deliver with the bat in the upcoming Super Eight and knockout games for India at the 2024 T20 World Cup. The speedster recently told Star Sports:

"The player whom I eagerly want to see is Rishabh Pant. He has been scoring runs consistently on the pitches that assisted bowlers more than batsmen. Having spent time with him in IPL playing for Delhi Capitals, he is a world-class player, and I am sure that his best is yet to come."

Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh has also called Pant’s move at No. 3 a masterstroke. The legendary off-spinner said:

“Rishabh Pant played at number 3. His role was completely changed. Before this World Cup, we were saying that Sanju Samson would play in the team because he has made big runs. To make Pant play at number three is a big positive. The left-right combination is formed when Pant plays at number three.”

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma and Co. will next lock horns with West Indies or Afghanistan in their opening game of the Super Eight stage in Barbados on Thursday, June 20.
