[Watch] Rishabh Pant holes out to long-on for 9 off 11 balls in IND vs BAN 2024 2nd Test

Rishabh Pant departed cheaply in the ongoing second Test against Bangladesh at Green Park in Kanpur on Day 4 (Monday, September 30). The wicketkeeper-batter perished for just nine runs off 11 balls, holing to Hasan Mahmud off Shakib Al Hasan.

The dismissal came in the 20th over of India’s first innings. Shakib fired in a full-length ball outside off and Pant swung his bat hard but failed to get the much-needed elevation, playing it straight to Mahmud at long-on.

With the dismissal, Shakib provided back-to-back wickets for the visitors, dismissing Shubman Gill in a similar fashion at long-off in his previous over.

Rishabh Pant recently scored a Test century against Bangladesh in his comeback Test after 18-plus months. The 26-year-old returned with scores of 39 and 109 as India won the opening Test by 280 runs in Chennai. He, however, blew a good chance of scoring big in the first innings of the second Test.
