[Watch] Rishabh Pant takes a double & gets to his 6th Test hundred in IND vs BAN 2024 1st Test
Team India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant took a double and got to his sixth Test hundred on Day 3 (Saturday, September 21) of the first Test against Bangladesh. M.A. Chidambaram is playing host to the first of the two Tests of the series.
Pant walked out to the middle on Day 2 (Friday, September 20) after the fall of Virat Kohli's wicket. He went about business as usual, striking the ball cleanly and getting runs on the board. The 26-year-old ended the day on 12 runs off 13 balls. He got to his half-century and then blazed his way to a sixth Test hundred on Day 3, equalling former Team India wicketkeeper-batter Mahendra Singh Dhoni's record in the longest format of the game.
Pant had muted celebrations when he reached his hundred and raised his bat as the crowd cheered him. Take a look at the moment here:
After getting to his landmark, he was dismissed by Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who took an excellent catch off his own bowling, for 109 runs off 128 balls. Rishabh Pant last scored a Test hundred against England back in 2022 at Edgbaston.
