Rishabh Pant took an excellent catch to dismiss Mayank Agarwal in the 2024 Duleep Trophy match between India A and India B at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Friday, September 6. Pant dived to his right to complete a catch, as Agarwal perished for 36 runs off 45 balls, comprising eight boundaries.
The dismissal came in the 16th over of India A’s 1st innings. Navdeep Saini bowled a short delivery down the leg side. Agarwal tried to guide that towards the fine leg but failed to keep away from Pant. The wicketkeeper dived to his left to complete the stunner to send back Agarwal.

Rishabh Pant is making his comeback to the red-ball format for the first time since recovering from injuries sustained in a car accident in December 2022. He, however, failed to deliver with the bat, scoring just seven runs off 10 deliveries.
The southpaw will look to bounce back in the second innings ahead of the much-awaited Test season for Team India, where they will play nine out of the upcoming 10 Tests in a packed calendar year.
Rishabh Pant is favorites to return to be named in the India squad for the upcoming two-match Test series against Bangladesh, which starts at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai from September 19 onwards.

Rishabh Pant is excited about working with India head coach Gautam Gambhir in the upcoming Test season. He recently told Jio Cinema (via The Times of India):
"Rahul bhai was very balanced as a person and a coach, which has its pros and cons. It depends on individuals whether to focus on the positives or negatives. Gauti bhai is more aggressive, focused solely on winning. But it's crucial to find the right balance and improve.”

Rishabh Pant recently worked with Gambhir during the India tour of Sri Lanka. The 26-year-old will be keen to return to his best in a format that he has dominated in a format that he has dominated in the past. The 26-year-old has amassed 2271 runs in 33 Tests, including five tons and 11 half-centuries.
He will be crucial to India’s success in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia later this year.
