Former India player Robin Uthappa turned back the clock with his power-packed 31 off eight balls in the Hong Kong Cricket Sixes 2024 in Mong Kok on Friday, November 1.
The wicketkeeper-batter led from the front in an innings laced with three sixes and as many boundaries. He smashed 25 runs off the opening over against Aamer Yamin.

Robin Uthappa has been one of the leading run-scorers in T20s. The 38-year-old has amassed 7,272 runs in 291 matches, including 42 half-centuries. The Karnataka batter represented India in 46 ODIs and 13 T20Is. He won the 2007 T20 World Cup with the Men in Blue.
Uthappa also holds a magnificent record in domestic cricket, scoring 9446 and 6534 in the first-class and List-A, respectively.
Robin Uthappa and Co. lose to Pakistan by six wickets in Hong Kong Cricket Sixes opening campaign
Led by Robin Uthappa, India lost to Pakistan by six wickets in Hong Kong Cricket Sixes in their opening game of the six-over tournament.
Batting first, India posted 119/2 in six overs. Bharat Chipli top scored with 53 off 16 deliveries, hitting four maximums and six boundaries. He retired after his fifty as per tournament rules. Manoj Tiwary also chipped in with 17 off seven balls. Skipper Faheem Ashraf starred with the ball for Pakistan, picking up two wickets.
In response, the Men in Green achieved the target with one over to spare. Asif Ali smashed an unbeaten 55 off 14 deliveries, comprising seven maximums and two boundaries. Muhammad Akhlaq and Ashraf chipped in with 40 (12) and 22 (5), respectively.
With the victory, Pakistan consolidated their top spot in Group C in the points table. They previously beat UAE by 13 runs. On the contrary, India were placed third due to a poor net run rate (NRR).
The Robin Uthappa-led side will next take on the UAE on Saturday, November 2.
