[Watch] Rohit Sharma brings up half-century with sensational straight six in MI-LSG IPL 2024 clash
Former Mumbai Indians (MI) Rohit Sharma brought up his half-century in style with a sensational straight six against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Wankhede Stadium on May 17.
Rohit brought up only his second 50+ score to finish off an inconsistent season with the bat. Rohit has scored 417 runs at an average of an average of 32.07 and a strike rate of 150 in 14 games.
However, the champion batter looked determined in MI's league-stage finale, bringing up his half-century off just 28 deliveries. Rohit danced down the track off a good-length delivery from Mohsin Khan to strike a maximum straight over the bowler's head.

Unfortunately for MI, Rohit's rampaging knock was cut short on 68 off 38 balls when he got a thick outside edge off Ravi Bishnoi to be caught at short third man.
The experienced batter was relieved of his captaincy duties this season after being at the helm since the middle of IPL 2023. Rohit led MI to a joint-record five titles during his stint as captain.
MI in trouble in their run-chase of 215 against LSG
MI endured another dismal outing with the ball against LSG in their season finale, conceding a massive 214/4 in 20 overs.
In reply, MI began well with an opening partnership of 88 from 52 deliveries between Rohit Sharma and Dewald Brevis. However, the latter's dismissal opened the floodgates as the in-form Suryakumar Yadav followed shortly for a 3-ball duck.
Rohit himself fell an over and a half later to leave MI in disarray at 97/3 in the 11th over. Skipper Hardik Pandya then tried to resurrect the run-chase but perished for 16 off 13 to bring to an end a tumultuous season. With only 4 wins in 13 games, MI are at the bottom of the table.
A defeat in the ongoing clash will confirm that the five-time champions finish in last place in IPL 2024.
As things stand, MI have lost half their side with 125 on the board, requiring another 90 off 30 balls.
