[Watch] Rohit Sharma gets hurt by Rishabh Pant’s dropped catch of Nathan McSweeney in BGT 2024-25 2nd Test
Team India skipper Rohit Sharma took a hit on his arm with wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant shelling a chance and giving Australian opener Nathan McSweeney a reprieve. India and Australia are squaring off in a day-night Test match at the Adelaide Oval.
On the third ball of the seventh over, Jasprit Bumrah bowled a delivery on the off-stump that took McSweeney's edge and went between the wicketkeeper and the first slip. Pant dived to his right and looked to complete the catch but it slipped out of his grasp and went past Rohit at first slip.
McSweeney picked up a couple of runs owing to that dropped catch. The camera then panned towards Rohit Sharma, who was in some discomfort on the ground, clutching his forearm. However, the Indian skipper shrugged off any injury scares and stood up looking ready to continue.
Take a look at the video of the same below:
Nathan McSweeney continues to bat in the middle for the hosts. He is currently on six runs off 37 balls at the end of the 13th over.

Team India won the toss and elected to bat first. The new opening pair of Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul didn't last long, as the former was dismissed off the very first delivery of the match. KL Rahul (37 off 64) and Shubman Gill (31 off 51) stitched together a 69-run partnership before the former fell prey to Mitchell Starc.
From there on, wickets fell at a regular pace with Rohit Sharma (3 off 23) and Virat Kohli (7 off 8) falling cheaply. Nitish Kumar Reddy (42 off 54) showed some resistance but was eventually dismissed with the visitors being bowled out for 180.
