[Watch] Rohit Sharma goes out for a drive in his Lamborghini, featuring special number plate, in Mumbai
India captain Rohit Sharma is spending quality time at home amid the five-week international break ahead of the two-match Test series against Bangladesh, which starts on September 19. The 37-year-old was recently seen driving his blue-colored Lamborghini Urus with a special number plate (ending with 0264) in his hometown of Mumbai.
Rohit's 264 is the highest individual score in the ODI format. He achieved the special feat while playing against Sri Lanka in 2014. He is also the only player to score three ODI double-centuries.
In a video doing the rounds on X, Rohit was seen wearing Team India’s practice T-shirt while driving his car.

Rohit Sharma loves driving and has a collection of luxury cars like the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Mercedes-Benz GLS, and Range Rover, among others. He bought a Lamborghini Urus for a whopping 3.1 crore in 2022.
Speaking about the international break, Rohit has been playing non-stop cricket since IPL, which was followed by the 2024 T20 World Cup and an ODI series in Sri Lanka.
The right-hander was last seen in action during the three-match ODI series in Sri Lanka. He amassed 157 runs with the help of two half-centuries, emerging as the leading run-scorer in the series. With that, Rohit also became the highest-ranked Indian batter in ODIs. He swapped positions with Shubman Gill to rise to No. 2 in the rankings. Virat Kohli (fourth) is the other Indian in the top 10 list.
Rohit Sharma is also the highest-ranked Indian in the latest Test rankings for batters. The Mumbai batter is sixth, ahead of Yashasvi Jaiswal (eighth) and Virat Kohli (10th).
Rohit Sharma rested for Duleep Trophy
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have been rested for the upcoming Duleep Trophy. The duo will next be in action against Bangladesh. On their absence, BCCI secretary Jay Shah told ANI (via The Times of India):
"We should not insist on players like Rohit and Virat to play in the Duleep Trophy. They will risk injury. If you have noticed, in Australia and England, every international player does not play domestic cricket. We have to treat the players with respect.”
Rohit Sharma has the second-highest runs for India in the ongoing World Test Championship cycle. He has 700 runs in nine Tests (16 innings), including three centuries and as many fifties. The senior batter is only behind his opening partner Yashavi Jaiswal (1028 runs in nine Tests). He remains critical to India’s success in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia later this year.
