[Watch] Rohit Sharma goes hammer and tongs against Mitchell Starc, hits 28 runs off 3rd over in IND vs AUS 2024 T20 World Cup match

India captain Rohit Sharma led from the front against Australian ace pacer Mitchell Starc in the 2024 T20 World Cup match at Daren Sammy National Stadium in Gros Islet, St Lucia on Monday, June 24. The right-hander smashed 28 runs off Starc, hitting four sixes and two boundaries. The third over yielded 29 runs, including a wide.

Rohit’s counterattack came after Virat Kohli departed for a duck in the previous (second over) to shift the momentum in India's favor.

The senior batter smashed consecutive sixes at deep extra cover before hitting back-to-back fours at mid-on and mid-wicket. The fifth ball was a dot, but Starc bowled a wide delivery off the sixth ball. The left-arm pacer was hit for a six at third man off the final delivery. Rohit’s top edge off full toss sailed past the boundary skirtings.
