[Watch] Rohit Sharma goes on a vacation with family after 2024 T20 World Cup celebrations in India

Team India captain Rohit Sharma was recently spotted at Mumbai airport, leaving with his family for a vacation. It is a welcome break from cricket for the veteran batter after a couple of months of a hectic schedule as he played in the IPL before the 2024 T20 World Cup.

It all ended well for Rohit as he led India to World Cup glory in the USA and the West Indies last month by beating South Africa in a hard-fought final. Team India's ICC trophy drought of 11 years ended as a result.

Rohit Sharma and his World Cup-winning teammates received a grand reception upon returning to India. They also participated in a victory parade in Mumbai amidst thousands of fans on the roads.

After celebrating the memorable World Cup win over the past few days, Rohit decided to go on a holiday with his wife Ritika Sajdeh, and daughter Samaira Sharma.

An Instagram page - instantbollywood - shared a video to give a glimpse of Rohit and his family at the Mumbai airport before going on a vacation.

"He actually was the captain who walked the talk" - Irfan Pathan on Rohit Sharma

Former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan recently praised Rohit Sharma's captaincy after the Men in Blue won the 2024 T20 World Cup.

He opined that Rohit made a great impact as a leader and compared him with top Indian captains of the past.

Speaking to Star Sports on the matter, Pathan said:

"If you ask Rohit Sharma after winning the World Cup trophy whether he can fly, he will say he can fly and jump from anywhere because he has changed Indian cricket in many ways. You have the great Kapil Dev as a fantastic leader who actually made us believe that we can win the World Cup. We had Sourav Ganguly, who made an impact on Indian cricket in a big way."
"Apart from those laurels where he took the Indian team to the finals, and now crossing the finish line, the kind of impact he had as a cricketer, he actually was the captain who walked the talk. He said he wanted to change how the Indian team plays T20 cricket. He generally used to take time for two overs but what he would do now was change it, that he would go hard from ball one. Rohit Sharma took that risk and he rightly deserves the credit," he added.

Rohit became only the third Indian captain after Kapil Dev and MS Dhoni to win a World Cup trophy.
