India captain Rohit Sharma provided a fiery start to the Men in Blue against Bangladesh in their ongoing 2024 T20 World Cup match in Antigua on Saturday (June 22). The right-hander smashed 23 runs off 11 balls, hitting one six and three boundaries. Rohit smashed a monstrous six off Shakib Al Hasan in the fourth over of India’s innings.
The massive six came as Shakib bowled a pitched-up delivery and Rohit came down the track before playing it for a 97-metre six at long-on. The 37-year-old timed the shot to perfection as the ball landed on the second tier, leaving everyone in awe.

Rohit Sharma was eventually caught out by Jaker Ali off Shakib in the same over. He shared a 39-run partnership with Virat Kohli for the opening wicket.
Rohit had failed to live up to expectations in his last few innings, scoring 13, 3, and 8 against Pakistan, USA, and Afghanistan, respectively. He, however, scored an unbeaten 52 against Ireland.
Bangladesh strike early against India in the 2024 T20 World Cup Super-8 match match
Bangladesh have struck early after Rohit Sharma won the toss and asked to bowl first in the 2024 T20 World Cup Super-8 clash.
At the time of writing, India were 83-3 after 10 overs, with Rishabh Pant and Shivam Dube at the crease.
Rohit Sharma and Co. are coming on the back of a 47-run win over Afghanistan in their Super-8 opening match. They will be keen to continue their winning momentum before facing 2021 champions Australia in their next outing at the 2024 T20 World Cup.
On the other hand, Bangladesh lost to Australia by 28 runs via DLS method in a rain-interrupted game. They must win against India to stay alive in the ICC event.
Bangladesh are yet to beat India in T20 World Cups. They have lost all four of their games against the Men in Blue.
