Rohit was last seen in action for Team India in the ODI series against Sri Lanka. The Men in Blue lost the three-match ODI series 2-0 in Sri Lanka, with the 37-year-old being the highest run-getter for the team across the three games. After winning the 2024 T20 World Cup, he also hung his boots in the shortest format of the game and handed over the mantle of captaincy to Suryakumar Yadav.

Rohit will now be seen in whites for Team India in the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh. This will be India's second assignment at home in the World Test Championship, with Team India getting the better of England earlier this year, beating them 4-1 in the five-match Test series.

Team India takes on Bangladesh in a two-match Test series. The first Test will be played from September 19 to 23 at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. Thereafter, the two teams will lock horns from September 27 to October 1 at the Green Park Stadium, Kanpur.
