[Watch] Rohit Sharma pokes fun at Washington Sundar as off-spinner loses his footing twice in same over in IND vs SL 2nd ODI

Team India skipper Rohit Sharma poked fun at off-spinning all-rounder Washington Sundar during the ongoing second ODI against Sri Lanka at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Sunday (August 4). The veteran opening batter showed his irritation in a comical way as a video of the same surfaced on social media.

It was in the 33rd over that Sundar lost his footing, leading to the run-up multiple times. Rohit Sharma, stationed at slip, threatened to hilariously come charging at him. However, Sundar also played it down and walked back with a smile.

The off-spinner has finished his quota for the match, bagging outstanding figures of 10-1-30-3, dismissing Avishka Fernando, Kusal Mendis and Charith Asalanka.

Meanwhile, the 37-year-old ended up on the wrong side of the toss again as Asalanka opted to bat first in Colombo. Nevertheless, the home side had a torrid start to their innings, losing the in-form Pathum Nissanka in the first ball of the match off Mohammed Siraj's bowling. However, Fernando and Mendis stitched together a dogged 74-run stand between them before the former perished.

The home side slumped to 136-6 at one stage after losing the set Asalanka and Charith Liyange in quick succession. Sri Lanka saw another big partnership develop between Dunith Wellalage and Kamindu Mendis before the former perished for a 39-run cameo. Nevertheless, Kamindu Mendis and Akila Dananjaya added some valuable runs to help the island nation get to 240/9 in their stipulated 50 overs.

The opening game of the series resulted in a tie as both teams finished with 230. Sri Lanka pulled off the unlikely tie despite India needing one run from 14 deliveries. Captain Asalanka starred with three scalps, including bagging the last two. The Men in Blue will certainly be under pressure, given the stiff target on a tricky surface.
