[Watch] Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant enjoy light-hearted moment as kite falls on the ground in DC vs MI IPL 2024 match

Rishabh Pant and Rohit Sharma enjoyed a light-hearted moment on the field as a kite fell on the ground during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Delhi Capitals (DC) at Arun Jaitley Stadium on Saturday (April 27).

In a video doing the rounds on X (formerly Twitter), Rohit can be seen handing the kite to Pant after it landed near the crease. The wicketkeeper took the kite and played with it momentarily before the umpire intervened and got it out of the ground.

For the unversed, Pant enjoys a great camaraderie with Rohit. He is set to play under Rohit's captaincy at the upcoming 2024 T20 World Cup after a gap of more than a year.

Rishabh Pant has been in stunning form after returning to competitive cricket. The left-hander has amassed 371 runs in 10 matches at a strike rate of 160.60, including three half-centuries. The 26-year-old is only behind Virat Kohli (430 runs in nine games) in the Orange Cap table.

"He understands the thought processes of players" - Rishabh Pant lauds Rohit Sharma ahead of T20 World Cup

Rishabh Pant recently lauded Rohit Sharma's captaincy ahead of his team's game against MI. He credited Rohit for the ability to understand his players.

Pant was quoted as saying on Star Sports (via India Today):

"He [Rohit Sharma] understands the thought processes of players, as every individual has their essence; the good part, the bad part. But how do you cope with it? That is very important."

He added:

"He tries to understand what is the thought process of that particular player. Then he takes the decision accordingly. The trust factor, which he brings in as people trust him. All these things I have got to learn from Rohit."

The remarks come months after Rohit roasted Bazball by citing the example of Pant, who missed the five-match home Test series against England due to rehabilitation. He told the media (via Hindustan Times):

"There was a guy called Rishabh Pant in our team, probably Ben Duckett hasn’t seen him play."

As far as the IPL 2024 match is concerned, DC set a 258-run target for MI. In response, Mumbai were 141/5 after 13 overs.
