[Watch] Rohit Sharma’s 2024 T20 World Cup champions India arrive in Delhi

On Thursday (July 4), Team India returned to New Delhi from Barbados after winning the 2024 T20 World Cup. The team was scheduled to leave on Monday, (July 1), but the plan was postponed due to the inclement weather conditions. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah arranged a chartered flight, and now Rohit Sharma’s 2024 T20 World Cup champions have arrived in the capital city of India.

The team was greeted with much love from the fans, who were present in huge numbers at the airport. Rohit was also seen flaunting the T20 World Cup trophy from the bus as fans cheered his name outside.

When the players reached the ITC Maurya Hotel, they were doing Bhangra and were in a joyful mood. In the videos that have since gone viral, Suryakumar Yadav, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rishabh Pant, and Indian captain Rohit Sharma were seen dancing their hearts out.

Here are the videos of the arrival of Team India:

The Men in Blue defeated South Africa in the final of the 2024 T20 World Cup. South Africa were favorites at one point when they needed 30 off the last five overs.

However, the Indian bowlers were on fire and did an amazing job of restricting the Proteas batters, as Rohit Sharma's side won the match by seven runs. This was India’s first ICC trophy since the 2013 Champions Trophy and their first T20 World Cup title after 17 years (2007).

Team India has a full-packed schedule for July 4

The T20 World champions are back in India. The Men in Blue are first scheduled to meet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at 11 a.m. IST. The Indian PM had earlier shared a video message and congratulated Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Rahul Dravid through a phone call.

After that, on the same day, Team India will travel to Mumbai and hold a victory parade, starting at 5 p.m. IST. Indian captain Rohit Sharma also encouraged the fans to join them for the same.

"🇮🇳, we want to enjoy this special moment with all of you. So let’s celebrate this win with a victory parade at Marine Drive & Wankhede on July 4th from 5:00pm onwards. It’s coming home ❤️🏆," Rohit wrote in an X post.

Following the parade, the Indian team will take part in a felicitation ceremony, to be held at the Wankhede Stadium.
