India captain Rohit Sharma played his part as the Men in Blue ended Quinton de Kock’s knock in the 2024 T20 World Cup final against South Africa. It came at Kensington Oval in Barbados on Saturday, June 29.

The Indian skipper placed a fielder at deep fine leg immediately after De Kock slammed a four off Arshdeep Singh in the 13th over of the Proteas run chase. The left-hander departed for 39 runs off 31 balls, comprising one six and four boundaries.

The dismissal came as Arshdeep bowled a length ball angling onto the pads. De Kock tried to pull it behind square leg but found Kuldeep Yadav at deep fine leg. Rohit had placed Kuldeep from short fine to deep after the previous shot for a boundary.
