Team India also met honorable Prime Minister on Thursday

The Men in Blue won the final on Saturday, June 29, but had to stay back in Barbados as the island was set to have a threat from Hurricane Beryl. They left the Caribbean shores on Wednesday and landed in Delhi in the early hours on Thursday to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his official residence.

The players clicked pictures with the Prime Minister and also held the T20 World Cup trophy in their group photo. After a brief chat with Narendra Modi, the team left for Mumbai on a special flight Vistara UK 1845. The number was a token of tribute for veteran cricketers Virat Kohli (jersey No.18) and Rohit Sharma (jersey No. 45), who had announced their retirement from the T20I format.

The flight arrived at the Mumbai Airport around 6:30 PM IST and the Indian players were greeted with a thunderous round of applause as they made their way towards Marine Drive in the team buses.

The Men in Blue then had grand celebrations throughout their bus parade at the Marine Drive and during the felicitation ceremony at the Wankhede Stadium. Several cricketers later took to their social media to express gratitude to the passionate fans and their support.
